France's Mirabelle. Drop New EP "Losers"
The Paris band's new record pairs oversized hooks and heavy, groove-driven guitars with lyrics that poke fun at posturing and the obsession with appearances.
Paris-based band Mirabelle. have released their new EP, Losers, out today. The record leans on huge hooks, explosive riffs and groove-heavy guitar work, paired with lyrics delivered with a wink.
Throughout the EP, the band takes aim at pretension, performative cool, fake attitudes and the exhausting pressure to keep up appearances. Rather than sitting in that frustration, Mirabelle. flip it into catchy melodies and shouted choruses built for crowds — the kind of songs designed for jumping and singing along.
Musically, Losers blends modern pop-punk with crushing guitars and larger-than-life choruses, landing somewhere between nostalgic and current. The band cite the explosive energy of acts like Four Year Strong and Sum 41, along with early-2000s nu metal, as touchstones for the sound.
That intersection of melody, aggression and humor is where Mirabelle. thrive, and Losers makes clear the band has no plans to follow anyone's rules. The EP is available now.
