Zebrahead Close Out Their Countdown EP Series With New Release "I.O."
The dual release pairs a freshly remastered version of the I EP with final chapter 0, completing the Southern California band's four-part concept.
Zebrahead have wrapped up their conceptual EP countdown with I.O., a dual release now streaming across platforms. The record pairs a newly remastered version of the band's I EP with 0, the closing chapter of the four-part run from the Southern California outfit.
With I.O. out, the full series — III, II, I and 0 — can now be heard as a single collection, and the accompanying videos have been gathered together as well. Across the project, the band kept the elements that have defined them for decades: infectious hooks, heavy riffs, melodic punch and humor.
Vocalist Ali Tabatabaee framed the final installment as a step up in scale. "This EP feels like we tapped into something new for us," he said, adding that the riffs, hooks and verses all landed bigger this time around.
Nearly three decades into their run, Zebrahead aren't treating the series as a look back. The band has already mapped out what comes next, with plans to begin writing and recording in early 2027 ahead of a new release later that year.
