Jason Tate collects Chorus.fm reviews and essays in "Music Mends Broken Hearts"

Chorus.fm editor Jason Tate has put "Music Mends Broken Hearts" up for sale, a hardback book collecting reviews and essays he published on the site over the years. The project started as a personal one, made only for himself, family and friends, and turned into a public release after readers asked about it in the comments of an Instagram post.

After fixing a few formatting issues from the first run, Tate made copies available to anyone who wants one. The edition runs 310 pages in US Trade format (6 x 9 in) and includes photos. In the introduction he notes that none of it was meant to be printed, and that everything inside the book can still be read for free on the website.

The table of contents doubles as a walk through 2000s pop punk and emo. It covers Midtown's "Living Well is the Best Revenge" and "Forget What You Know", the Box Car Racer album, The Starting Line's "Say It Like You Mean It" and "Based on a True Story", Say Anything's "... is a Real Boy", Paramore's "Riot!", Fall Out Boy's "Infinity on High" and "Save Rock and Roll", plus entries on Copeland, Cartel, Thrice, The Format, The Matches, New Found Glory, Less Than Jake, MxPx and Manchester Orchestra.

Also included is the "My Nostalgia" series covering 1998 through 2004 and the "Back to" pieces, where Tate re-ranks his best-of lists year by year from 2005 to 2015. More recent writing closes things out, including Yellowcard's self-titled album, Cold Years' "Goodbye to Misery", blink-182's "One More Time..." and Yellowcard's "Better Days".
